Greetings and welcome to the GlassRoots Spring catalogue.

I would like to tell you a little about ourselves, and why we are so
proud of our program. The heart of GlassRoots consists of
introducing new creative media into the lives of young people who, upon
mastering specific skills, are using glass for creative
self-expression. It is a joy to witness the pleasure and newfound
self-esteem evident on a young artist’s face upon creating
the perfect piece of glass art whether it is a single bead, the most
luminous kinformed tile, or a blown glass ball. This fall
we have completed building a hot shop so that our young artists can
create blown glass art and other beautiful and functional
objects.

We are now very pleased to be able to extend our glassmaking programs to
adults. In this catalogue you will fi nd exciting and
informative classes in glassblowing, bead making, kilnforming and kiln
casting and much, much more, which will introduce
you to the marvelous world of glassmaking and glass art.

Come and join us at GlassRoots whether for a weekend workshop or an
multi-week session meeting once a week, and share with our
knowledgeable instructors their passion for glass.

Pat Kettenring
Executive Director
